Sting - Acorn
A result of a joint Defra supported project in conjunction with De Montfort University, to create a high performance, naturally fire retardant upholstery fabric from a new sustainable fibre - wool and stinging nettles.
The nettles are locally sourced and grown without pesticides or herbicides. The fabric is woven on looms using green electricity and dyed with non-metallic dyes and a natural water supply from the Pennines.
